Ray's mother and dad both had a singing ministry in their younger days and Ray has commented several times that he cut his teeth on the old hymn books while listening to the sweet harmony of his Mom and Dad as they sang those old gospel favorites. Catherine also is from a family of gospel singers. She recalls fondly of the days when Mama and Daddy would sing with quartets in churches around the community. What beautiful memories to have and what a great commission to carry on the gospel in song to a lost and dying world. And they are doing just that. Enough cannot be said about the great work that's going on in Inman, S.C., in an old battered - but blessed - theater, affectionately called 'The Old Inman Gospel Theater". Groups from all over the country have triumphantly proclaimed Christ as King as their voices ring out every Saturday night. Many hearts have been blessed and many, many souls saved over the past eleven years since the Theater first opened its doors as a gospel theater. Ray and Catherine love their work here and they give of themselves unselfishly - always praising others and never taking any of the credit for the labor of love put into this place. Other members of the Andrews Singers include: Jeanean Aikens, singer and pianist; Helion Morris, singer; Jimmy Cathecart, drummer; Lee Peterson, saxophone; Lee Dill, bass guitarist; and Kenny Irwin, lead guitarist.
