GRADING STANDARDS :
Please note we grade by soundchecking records and not only visually (though we also try to inform as much as possible on the physical aspect of the record).
We try to be as accurate as possible, play the records on a Technics MK2 turntable & a NAD amplifier at high volume, and don't make any exception such as lowering the standards when grading African records for example. We are aware a lot of African records specialists have very low standards but this is definitely not our case, we have been selling records by mail since 1999 and learnt grading long time before getting into the African discography, so please bid with confidence, you'll be happy to see how accurate we are.
NM : record is unplayed, like new.
EX : record seems almost unplayed, might have one or two very superficial and completely inaudible marks.
VG++ : still absolutely no surface noise, though the record might have some visible marks.
VG : almost no surface noise, should have marks, but still good to be played WITHOUT MAJOR NOISE on a professional or a club sound system.
VG- : record has surface noise, but definitely not overwhelming the music, might have marks or not (some records look great and play badly, again, we grade AUDIO), but the quality is not good enough to be played loud in a club/on a professional system without noise.
G : surface noise is really bad and almost overwhelms the music.
All our records are cleaned with a VPI record cleaning machine. Our grading standards are 100% guaranteed, if you're not satisfied you just get refunded after sending the record back (this has never happened until today though).
Soundclips are recorded from the record offered for auction and don't go threw any sound restoration process.
Music descriptions are supposed to describe the music as is and it would never come to our mind to lie on what the music is. We always add as many soundclips as possible so that ebayers make their own opinion on what they're bidding on.
