Apostolic Extravaganza! What else can one
say about the week of April 3-7, 1978. . .the
week of the 3rd. National Music
Let me take you by the hand and lead you
down memories’ lane. If you were there, it
will be an enjoyable recall. If you didn’t have
the pleasure of attending. ..don’t make the
same mistake twice, join us the week of March
5-9, 1979!
Monday night Pastor T.L. Craft ministered the Word. That’s always an interesting
experience! The JCM Choir and Chorale were at their usual best. The children’s choir of
First Pentecostal Church, under the direction of Steve and Sharon Graham, absolutely stole
the hearts of everyone present Tuesday night. They did a first-class job on the children’s
musical, “Everyone Calls Him Sir.” C.M. Becton wrapped it all up with a powerful message.
By popular demand... the musical, “His Truth Is Marching On,” was presented on
Wednesday night, for the second year in a row. What a story is the'outpouring of the Holy
Ghost and the revelation of Jesus’ name, in this century!
Our own Lanny Wolfe did a masterful job in directing his own musical, “Greater Is He.”
It is a beautiful presentation of the glory and power of our Lord Jesus Christ. The combined
college and church choirs, along with guest soloist Sharon Haygood, blessed everyone! The
Lanny Wolfe Trio .concert put the icing on the cake Thursday night.
I’ve mentioned nothing about the daily seminars which were jam-packed with hundreds of
tips for musicians and directors. Some of the finest “music people” in Apostolic circles
shared the secrets of both good musicianship and anointed singing, and ^laying. Music is a
mighty complimentary force to the preaching of the Gospel!
We are very concerned that excellence be expected in both training and in spirit. Study
well. Learn it right. Do it at a level which is a compliment to the Lord Jesus. But have
sensitivity enough to know that the real work and effectiveness is done as the Holy Spirit
accompanies the song. That’s what the National Music Ministry Conference has come to
symbolize, .-^balance between our part and the Spirit’s part;, the song sets the stage for the
preaching of the Word!
Apostolic Extravaganza! Yes sir. . .right up to the final night. And that’s what this album
is all about. It is the “culmination song” of the week, a final tribute to the work of the Spirit
and the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
It is with a great deal of pleasure that we thank you for taking the walk with us through
" that great week. Now, sit back, relax and worship with this gigantic mass choir of over 400
voices as they sing the house down!
