This 45 record by the Beatles, released in 1982, as Collectables 1515, features the songs I SAW HER STANDING THERE and REMINISCING. Note: here it is wrongly called Can’t Help It - Blue Angel. Read on for the explanation!! One is a Beatles cover of an early rock and roll hit from BUDDY HOLLY, and the other is an early rendition of a great Lennon-McCartney song, live in Hamburg 1962. They are quirky Beatles takes, British Invasion style, of US Rock and Roll, Rhythm & Blues, and Country & Western tracks they loved!! Read on…….
SONG INFO: where did the incorrect song title come from????? Reading the back of the 45 EP sleeve by Marlene Dietrich from 1962, with her version of “Falling in love again”, the song McCartney covers, It’s alternate title was “Can’t help it”. It was the hit song from the movie Blue Angel. See picture 6. Somehow these 2 side bits got attached to the song “Reminiscing” incorrectly instead of McCartney’s cover of Dietrich’s hit “Falling in love again” from these King-size Taylor Hamburg Beatles’ tapes of 30 (plus) songs. It would have made more sense attached to that track title!!! PS, that Song and Movie were from 1939. McCartney loved that old-school stuff, honey pie!!
The record is made of black vinyl and has a speed of 45 RPM. It comes in an original Collectables picture sleeve, number 1515 (from a set of 15) and both have been graded as Excellent (EX), record and sleeve!
Remember, these are live recordings of the Beatles from December 1962 at the Star-Club in Hamburg Germany. Their last week there. One year after the Decca Tapes, 2 months after the LOVE ME DO 45 and 3 months before PLEASE PLEASE ME LP. From this set of 30 songs they performed 12 which became tracks on later Beatles EMI albums. However, 18 recordings here were never done for EMI. Enjoy them all!!
The Beatles, also known as the Fab Four, are an exceptional rock band from the 1960s who revolutionized the music industry. This record is a must-have for any true fan of the Beatles or vinyl collector!! The record is a first pressing and is part of a set of 15 Beatles Star-Club singles from the Collectables label!! It features mono recordings and is cataloged as COL-1515. Enjoy!!
