Johnny HODGES & Earl HINES * SWING’S OUR THING * RARE 1967 STEREO JAZZ LP * NM-

Alto sax giant Johnny Hodges and the incomparable Earl “Fatha” Hines front a dynamite small group of swing musicians from the Ellington band: Cat Anderson, trumpet; Buster Cooper, trombone; Sam Woodyard, drums; Jerry Castleman, Bass; and a personal favorite, Jimmy Hamilton, clarinet and tenor sax.

They play a selection of originals and standards ranging from Over the Rainbow, to Night Train to Memphis, to a Hodges composition entitled with an intriguing question: Can a Moose Crochet?

This stereophonic album was recorded in 1967 and designated Verve V6-8732. The label is black with silver printing.

This recording Play Grades NM- and the Vinyl grades NM- also.

We listen to each record in our grading process, to avoid surprises. Our policy is that we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If you are not, please call or email me within 14 days of your receipt, and the price in full will be refunded (see details under return policy).

The gatefold album cover is VG+. The front and back cover graphics are beginning to show ring wear on the top and bottom. There dings on three corners, although the cover is sound structurally. The printed material inside the gatefold is crisp and clean.

We have to sell an extensive collection of carefully-selected jazz and classical music and we will be releasing albums for sale each month.

Thanks for stopping by!
