SHOW NO MERCY1983's Show No Mercy is the album that started it all for thrash kings Slayer, and the set that ultimately helped commence the speed and thrash metal movements of the 80’s as well as the extreme metal underground of the 90’s. Slayer incorporated the faster, darker elements of Judas Priest and melded it with the punk brutality of Motorhead. HAUNTING THE CHAPEL (EP)

Due to the success of Slayer's debut album Show No Mercy in 1983, their record label pushed the release of this three song Haunting the Chapel EP which already demonstrated a marked evolution from the band's previous sound and it was the first glimpse at a distinct style that would come to fruition on their forthcoming albums. Includes extra track “Aggressive Perfector.” Pressed on Limited Edition Splattered Clear Colored Vinyl!

LIVE UNDEAD

The first live album from Slayer recorded in New York City in 1984. This seven-song live release features five tracks from Slayer's debut, Show No Mercy which was released a year prior, one cut from the three-song Haunting The Chapel EP and an additional non-album track entitled "Aggressive Perfector." The songs on Live Undead fundamentally follow the heavy handed arrangements of their studio counterparts, but are enhanced with an added energy and menace that was vital to Slayer's exciting early period. HELL AWAITS

With their second full length album and third overall, Slayer upped the ante in every way possible. Breakneck tempos, gruesome lyrics and proper production gave the band a progressive and distinct sound that was becoming all their own. Hell Awaits is where the band began to sound truly sinister and evil and Dave Lombardo's famous double bass drumming brilliantly propells the lightspeed riffing and twisted solos of Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman here. Bassist Tom Araya's dark and demonic lyrics touched on everything from the mind of a serial killer in "Kill Again" to vampires on "At Dawn They Sleep" and the unhinged lust of "Necrophiliac." Hell Awaits stands as one of best black and thrash metal documents of the '80s and its influence is vast and undeniable. Pressed on Limited Edition Splatterd Gold Colored Vinyl!
