IRON MAIDEN
Iron Maiden's self-titled debut album was originally released in 1980. The critically and commercially acclaimed album debuted at number 4 in the UK albums chart. The album was the only studio album with guitarist Dennis Stratton who was brought in as a last-minute replacement.
KILLERS
Killers, the second album by Iron Maiden, was originally released in February 1981 in the UK and in June 1981 in the U.S. This was the first album with Adrian Smith on guitar and the last with vocalist Paul Di'Anno. The album features "Wrathchild" which is a regularly played track which appears in almost all their concert tours.
THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST
The third studio album by Iron Maiden, 1982's The Number Of the Beast saw the debut of vocalist Bruce Dickinson and the final appearance of drummer Clive Burr in the band. The album met with considerable critical and commercial success and was a landmark release for the band becoming their first to reach No. 1 in the UK albums chart. The album produced the singles "Run To the Hills" and "The Number of the Beast".
PIECE OF MIND
The 1983 release Piece of Mind was Iron Maiden's fourth studio album and the first to feature drummer Nicko McBrain who had recently left the Paris-based band Trust and has been Iron Maiden's drummer ever since. Piece of Mind was a critical and commercial success, reaching No. 3 in the UK Albums Chart and achieving platinum certification in the UK and North America.
SOMEWHERE IN TIME
1986's Somewhere In Time is the second to last release in Iron Maiden's legendary '80s output following 1984's iconic Powerslave and their 1985 live album Live After Death. Their sixth full-length overall, the Martin Birch produced 8-song set finds the band incorporating more progressive arrangements and synthesizers for the first time, all without forgoing the heavy metal trademarks they pioneered and their fans love. The tour de force opening cut "Caught Somewhere In Time" sets the tone here while singles and album highlights "Wasted Years" and "Stranger in a Strange Land" re-emphasize why Iron Maiden was truly in a league all their own at the time!
SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON
The 1988 concept album Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son is appropriately Iron Maiden's seventh full-length album, their last in a long line of groundbreaking metal albums from the 1980's. Based in European folklore, the supernatural 8-song set was the band's second to debut at #1 in the U.K. after 1982's The Number of the Beast and produced no less than four Top Ten singles with "Can I Play with Madness," "The Evil That Men Do," "The Clairvoyant," and "Infinite Dreams." Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son marked the end of an era for Iron Maiden, one that the rest of heavy metal and even the band themselves haven't been able to live up to ever since!
MAIDEN ENGLAND '88 (2 LP)
This classic live show was recorded during Iron Maiden's two sold-out nights at Birmingham N.E.C Arena, UK in November of 1988 during the band’s Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son World Tour. The concert has been specially upgraded and extended from the existing 1989 release and now includes three previously unreleased encores: "Running Free," "Run To The Hills" and "Sanctuary" thereby completing the full concert with a total running time of 110 minutes.
This limited edition double vinyl picture disc was previously only available on CD as part of EMI’s 1994 Sound And Vision Series packaged alongside the VHS, but with two tracks fewer than the video contained. "Can I Play With Madness" and "Hallowed Be Thy Name" were not featured as there was no space on the single disc. Now with the three encores also included, the 2LP-set offers a total of 5 tracks previously unavailable on CD making this the first full and complete audio recording release of this historic tour.
