RECORD: Strong VG+, initial noise disappears quickly. Overall great record.
SLEEVE: G+, noticeable ring wear and scuff marks to front and back. Mild shelf wear. Two small stickers shown in photos.
VINYL GRADING SCALE:
Mint (M) An unopened record that is in perfect condition. Doesn't get much better than this! Only records that are sealed and brand new will be graded as M.
Near Mint (NM or M-) A nearly perfect record. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. Extremely faint surface noise can sometimes be heard in between tracks, otherwise perfect.
Excellent (EX) A record that can be considered NM, but has one small flaw that detracts. The record might have several seconds of light crackles that then disappear for the rest of the play. In between VG+ and NM.
Very Good Plus (VG+) This will show some signs that it was played and handled lightly. The vinyl surfaces may have some aesthetic marks that do not affect play. Very light warps that do not affect the sound or tracking may be present. NO scratches or skips. Surface noise will be present in very small instances.
Very Good (VG) Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced for this grade. Surface noise will be more prominent in this grading; however, it will not overtake the music. Very light scratches may be found on the record, but nothing that lasts for more than several clicks.
Good (G), Good Plus (G+) Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and should play through without skipping. It will have significant surface noise, scratches and visible groove wear. Labels will have heavy wear.
(If its is a vinyl you have been seeking for years, and the price is right, get it...but look to upgrade down the road)
SLEEVE GRADING SCALE:
Mint (M) Perfect in every way.
Near Mint (NM or M-) A nearly perfect jacket. It should show no obvious signs of wear. The jacket should only be NM if it has no signs of wear what so ever. Typically newly openedd records are an automatic NM.
Very Good Plus (VG+) Jacket will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. Some very mild shelf and ring wear might be noticeable. VG+ rating is reserved for a record that might have several defects preventing it from being NM.
Very Good (VG) The jacket can have any of the defects listed in VG+. It may have a little larger seam splits then the VG+ jacket could have. The jacket may also be marred by writing, or have tape, stickers, or their residue attached. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them.
Good (G), Good Plus (G+) The jacket will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the look of jacket.
Poor (P), Fair (F) The jacket can be water damaged, split on all three seams, heavily marred by wear and writing. The LP cover barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves (if original) are fully seam split, crinkled, and written upon. This could also have heavily repaired seam splits with tape.
