Columbia Records Civil War Music Set of 2 Books & 2 Records The Union & The Confederacy! This Vintage Set by Columbia Records features the Music of the Union and the Music of the Confederacy during the years of the Civil War 1861-1865. This Civil War Music was recorded at the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C. and dates to the early 1950's.

This Vintage Civil War Music was performed by the National Gallery Orchestra. The Union record book has 60 pages of text and black and white pictures with a two page pull out at the beginning of the book. There are also Essays by Bruce Catton, Clifford Dowdy and Allan Nevins.

The Confederacy has 32 pages of text and black and white pictures with essays by Catton and Dowdy.

I have not tested the records but they look to be free of scratches and chips. The Union book's text block has become almost totally unglued from the cover spine but the book is still intact. The union book also has some moisture evidence on the first few pages and both books have evidence of some moisture- not enough to cause mold or warping of the records- the records were very well protected. The covers are slightly bowed and the pages are a bit sticky to open. It sounds worse than it is- both books are completely readable , intact and free of missing and torn pages. No writing either.
