Records play well, but there is light to medium amount of surface noise, but it is not overwhelming. During the louder parts of music the surface noise seems minimal, but where the music volume quiets the surface noise is more noticeable. There is no ticking or skipping (VG-).
Records appear very clean with minimal mars, no nicks
or scratches and have a nice sheen to them(VG). The album cover small tear towards top edge of binding and some wear at corners but is otherwise in very good condition. The inside binding and sleeves are in excellent condition with no splitting. The back of the last sleeve and inside the back cover have a slight defect in them where it looks like something stuck them together (glue type residue). Inside the back cover is a list of "Victor Musical Library Builders ALBUMS OF FINE MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT AT AN EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE PRICE".
I am new to selling our collection of 78's and have a basic record player...no fancy equipment and am a novice at the grading system. I've been told there is a big difference between grading 78 rpm and regular 33 LPs. I'm trying to be fair in my grading and will base my opinions on the Goldmine Grading system that I have just learned about. I understand play quality can really vary with higher grade audio equipment. If you are a collector or proficient in grading, please look closely at photos to make a judgment for yourself on record and album condition.
