LP : LOVE IS BLUE / V.A.

Original German stereo pressing from 1968 on EUROPA, E 307. Contains 16 tracks by “The Spots”, “The Petards” and “101 Strings”. This one is sought after for the 3 dope sitar-psych tracks: ”Blues For The Guru”, ”Karma Sitar” and ”Strings For Ravi”, all performed by the “101 Strings”. There are also some great freakbeat hammond/brass-groovers ( “Killer Joe A Gogo”, ”Kings Road Rock”, ”San Francisco Sun” ). The other tracks are more late 60ies Beat/Pop. Nice psych cover artwork with body-painted female nude. The 3 sitar-tracks are exclusively on this German-only record, there is no overlapping with the band’s release on the Alshire-label called “Astro-Sound from beyond the year 2000” ! Look for more sitar-groove in my current auctions !

Condition: side 1 looks mint-- in daylight & in normal artificial light, it looks mint-- to ex+ under a very strong halogen lamp. Side 2 looks mint- to mint-- in every light. Both sides play in mint- all of the time.

The cover is top: it's still in it's original ( open ) PVC shrink, under this front & back are top and all seams/spine are intact and without rub, slightest rub in the lower right corner, the PVC shrink has one tear on it's front ; overall mint-. The sealing PVC causes a few light-reflections on the photos, these are no damages.

Zustand: Seite 1 sieht bei Tageslicht & unter einer normalen Lampe mint-- aus, unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe sieht sie mint-- bis ex+ aus. Seite 2 sieht in jedem Licht mint- bis mint-- aus. Beide Seiten spielen durchgehend in mint- .

Das Cover ist top: es befindet sich noch in der originalen ( offenen ) PVC-Einschweisshülle, darunter sind Vorder- & Rückseite sehr schön und alle Kanten sind intakt und ohne Abrieb, allerleichtester Abrieb ist nur in der unteren rechten Ecke., die PVC-Hülle hat auf der Vorderseite einen Riss; insgesamt in mint-. Das PVC verursacht auf den Fotos einige Lichtreflexe, das sind keine Defekte. alle Platten habe ich professionell gereinigt und angehört (meist ganz, manchmal in Ausschnitten). Kommen mit neuer Außen- & Innenhülle !

Grading & Cleaning:

the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

I also visually graded the record in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve
