RCA Victor #47-6507 (G2WW-3215), THE SEARCHERS (RIDE AWAY), stated "(from the C. V. Whitney film "The Searchers", written by Stan Jones, with Jack Marshall's Orchestra; and (G2WW-3214)  SONG OF THE PRODIGAL, written by Glenn Spencer, with Jack Marshall's Orchestra.
Other than Ken Curtis serenading Vera Miles with the song SKIP TO MY LOU, there really wasn't much in the way of singing in the classic John Wayne film THE SEARCHERS -- except for this incredible Stan Jones song, sung by the Sons Of The Pioneers, which is heard a the beginning and end of the film.  The 45 version was NOT the version sung in the movie; but is an EXTENDED version of the song, with additional orchestral effects.  And it's the closest thing we had to a soundtrack to THE SEARCHERS until fairly recently.
