Very rare jazz LP on the Impulse label: Charles Mingus -
"Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus" (Cat. #A-54, Mono). The "Van Gelder" markings are
in
the deadwax. This is the original orange-and-black label version.
PLAY
GRADED, as this is from my personal collection. The
LP is graded at VG++: There are a few aesthetic marks that have no affect
on play, and certainly nothing I can feel with a fingertip pass. It
plays with negligible background noise, and sometimes non at all. There
is one area that causes a minor click for about 8 rotations on side 2.
The
laminated
gatefold jacket
is in NM condition. It is borderline perfect save for a drill hole on the bottom left.
Grading scale: M (never used), NM,
VG++ (same as EX), VG+, VG, VG-, G+, G. The goal is that a VG LP will be
acceptable to most listeners, and a VG+ LP will be acceptable to all
but the pickiest of collectors.
