Very beautiful original vintage Prestige Mono PRLP 7047 record from 1956, first edition(?) of Sonny Rollins "Tenor Madness" feat. John Coltrane.
Deep Groove, 446W. 50th St. New York address on both labels and "RVG" in dead wax, original wax-paper inner sleeve which has opened on one side.
Record has never been on the collectors market before, it comes directly from the first owner, an 80 year old german jazz collector who has taken care of his records very well!
The cover: Near Mint Minus!
See photos, very beautiful condition, high gloss lamination shows only very minor shelf wear, all spines are perfect and have no wear or splits. Cover back is clean and white showing just some very minor signs of age. Cover front has tiny tear at upper area of opening spine and traces of a crease in the right middle which is more obvious from the inside of the cover. Really nothing serious!
The record and labels: Strong Near Mint Minus!
No scratches, no dirt, no needle drops, even as good as no signs from the paper inner sleeve. Wonderful clean and shiny vinyl and labels. Other than some minor surface dust and some tiny littlest surface marks this record is in pristine condition. It has never been cleaned before in any way!
This record has been playgraded entirely on my Ortofon SPU cartridge,
it runs absolutely wonderful and quiet even in the silent passages with pure audiophile sound and only the slightest crackling between the tracks! Wonderful audio!!
A stunning copy, fine either to collect or to listen to! Or both!
Satisfaction guaranteed! If item is not as described, I accept a return!
