SCARCE vintage Arabian 45 rpm 7" record: OM KOLSOUM (KALSOUM) on CAIROPHON RECORDS with a very rare company sleeve - this record has 4 tracks, and has all writing in Arabic except for the artist name and label name; numbers include 'C-14' and '7TBDA 361-62 / HPC 98' b/w '7TBDA 363-64/HPC 99'. No date but circa the 1950's. I'm pretty sure the artist name on the label is misspelled and it should be "OM KALSOUM" (sometimes UMM KULTHUM, and a variety of other spellings), known as the Star of the East, and considered by many to be the greatest Arabic singer ever.
Condition: EX/VG+ (vinyl is glossy with a few minor scuffs - play-tested and sounds EX; labels are clean but one side has an American address label; the sleeve has a small scar on one side, a half-inch split to bottom edge, a couple of minimal spots and light corner wrinkles).
(Vintage Vinyl, Music, 45s, Singles, Middle East, World Music, Traditional, Folk, Vocals, Orchestra, Arabia, Egypt, Africa, 1940's, 1950's, Collectible).
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: All items are very well-packed for shipment and always include tracking numbers. Non-media items have the
shipping cost noted in the auction, but we offer FREE SHIPPING TO U.S. CUSTOMERS ON ALL MEDIA ITEMS (AND SOMETIMES NON-MEDIA ITEMS) - that
means that the item price includes your shipping costs - this free shipping applies to books & magazines (price includes $3-$5 media mail shipping),
postcards, photos, booklets & pamphlets (price includes $1.50-$3, 1st class or media mail shipping), record albums (7"s/45s include $3.00 1st class
shipping; 10" and LPs include $3-$5 media mail shipping), cassettes, reel tapes, and CDs (includes $2 to $4, 1st class or mm).
REGARDING IMAGE QUALITY: Some of our older listings have images of poor quality; a few months ago Ebay changed their image size policies,
and I was forced to automatically enlarge the images for all of last years' remaining items, which caused them to be grainy and blurry.
INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS - WE SHIP WORLDWIDE - please contact me prior to bidding so I can determine Airmail shipping rates for you.
WE NEVER USE STOCK PHOTOS - all images are of actual items. WE ALMOST ALWAYS USE MULTIPLE IMAGES. We grade all items conservatively,
and when grading record albums we follow the Goldmine Record Guide. Please see our other Ebay auctions for many used, odd, rare and collectible books
and records, paper & ephemera, and more. Thank you!
