This listing contains:

The 100 Greatest Recordings of All Time, published by The Franklin Mint in the 1970s and early 1980s. This is the complete 100 LP set in 50 cases. Each case contains 2 red wax LPs and a booklet. The set is previously owned and used. All cases have been opened. The records are either in near mint condition or (some) show very minor wear (a couple of light marks here and there, a few thumbprints) - nothing that would really impact the playback, though. The cases show some minor shelf wear and some other marks, but all are intact. The spines have some faded spots on the gold lettering here and there. The records each have their own "compartment" that they sit in with a clear plastic cover. A small round tab goes through the spindle hole. Some of them are difficult to remove from this tab, so I noticed that many had been lowered by heating and pushing down the tab - I'm not sure if the previous owner did this or Franklin mint due to the difficulty in removing the records. The records still sit in the cutout and do not move (they're just easier to get out). I did not type out a list of each record, but a complete list is available online if you google it.

The 100 Greatest Recordings of all time" from the Franklin Mint has been called the ultimate private library of fine recorded music. Every recording was selected by a distinguished panel of music authorities (Martin Bookspan, Schuyler G. Chapin, Franco Ferrara, Irving Kolodin, William Mann, R. Gallois Montbrun, Marcel Prawy, Andre Previn, William Schuman and H. H. Stuckenschmidt).

The library was first announced on the 100th anniversary of Thomas Edison’s invention of the phonograph. Each recorded treasure was pressed with a special vinyl formulation that enabled a clear, quiet playing surface on a more rigid LP disk. Every record was pressed in an atmosphere controlled “clean room.”
