Promo: YES. Gold stamp promo.  Please see my notes on promos below.

Vinyl Grade: MINT-.  Looks Mint. FULL GLOSS black and free of scuffs, hairline scratches and spindle trails.  Excuse the reflections in the photos.

Cover Grade: EXCELLENT.  The cover shows the very lightest of corner and bottom seam wear from storage.  No slits or tears.  Cover is clean and attractive.

Record Sleeve: soft plastic and totally intact.

NOTES: Mistakenly titled “Railroad I” on the cover.
John Fahey said: "No, there never was a “Railroad II”. Allegiance insisted on putting “I” after “Railroad”. I couldn’t stop them even though I tried."

The LP in the photographs is the LP that you will receive.

Thank you for your consideration.

A word on PROMOTIONAL COPIES:  LP promotional copies in most cases came from FIRST PRESSINGS and usually pulled from the front of the press run.  First pressings, which come as close to the original master disc as possible, matter to audiophiles.  Also, cover drills (holes), corner cuts and cover notches were a common way for the record labels to mark and identify non-returnable promo copies given to retail stores.  Not all promo copies were "stamped" for promotion.

Absolutely perfect in every way

(NM) Near Mint

Shiny and free of visible defects. Nearly perfect.

It looks like it just came from the store and was opened for the first time. Nearly perfect.

(EX) Excellent (or sometimes referred to as VG++)

Light scuffs or scratches that do not affect play.  Very minor defects such as marks around the spindle hole may be present.

There may be very light creases or minor corner wear/bends.  Promo or cut-out markings may be present.  NO seam splits.

(VG+) Very Good Plus

More scuffs or scratches that may have a slight affect on sound quality.  Defects are slightly heavier such as the spindle hole becoming slightly misshapen or light warps that do not affect play.

Very faint ring wear or discoloration.  Creases and corner wear are heavier and more noticeable.  There may be a seam split on the bottom of less than one inch.

(VG) Very Good

Lack most of the original gloss. Groove wear is evident and scratches are deep enough to feel with a fingernail.  When played there is surface noise that is not overpowering the music.

Ring wear is becoming very noticeable and seam splits may be on all three sides.  Corners and seams show considerable wear and someone may have written on it.

(G) Good

Significant groove wear. Heavier scratches than VG. Plays without skipping but has much background noise.  Label is well worn.

Significant ring wear, seam splits and considerable or heavy writing, markings or stickers.  The cover is considerably used and abused.
