Decca SXL 2001 ED1 Wide Band TCHAIKOVSKY 1812 Overture, Capriccio Italien   KENNETH ALWYN  London Symphony Orchestra 1959
One of many quality ORIGINAL classical recordings MAINLY UK FIRST PRESSINGS I will be listing over the coming days all from a SUPERB ONE OWNER COLLECTION purchased new in the "Golden Age"  1950s-60s. I have acquired the collection direct from the gentleman's widow - they were bought from new, mostly only played a couple of times on highest quality equipment and recorded on reel to reel and then ARCHIVED away. I will point out any flaws (should there be any) as I individually list each one.
This one is DECCA SXL 2001 Wide Band (ED1 label - "Original Recording" at 10 O' clock), (1959) 12/59  on rear cover, matrix 2k, 4k.   Original liner sleeve in excellent condition. The labels are in excellent condition.  Outer sleeve with scalloped flipbacks is excellent with just an erased date to top of reverse.  The vinyl looks excellent+ side 1, whilst  side 2 has a few non-feelable & non-audible marks - I TEST PLAYED to be quite sure and the playback remains superb. Please note any lines visible on the vinyl in my scans are simply light reflections and are NOT on the record. I would grade excellent +  (probably better), this record plays superb without any issues whatsoever and remains a fine example. Owing to past problems there will be no shipping to PO Box addresses or South America.  Many thanks.
