Rare as hens teeth this is the hand screened Lightning Bolt 2nd LP in COLORED vinyl. With this album the band gained popularity that made it impossible to keep up with screen printing each sleeve individually. The light blue marbled vinyl with brown hand written screened interior note was quickly sold out and the remainder of those pressed on black vinyl with screened sleeves sold out soon afterward replaced with a standard sleeve. It makes sense as this is a band finding its sound, and the sound was new,exciting, and exhilarating. Springing out of the fabled Fort Thunder, a DIY space festooned with art across every surface, holding shows that could be of any genre, wrestling events with costumed creatures, and ceaseless production of Art in every medium, Lightning Bolt stood out due to their intense live shows of repetitive patterns and hailstorms of notes produced by two gentlemen named Brian. It was noise, metal, punk, and well intentioned weirdness. It sounded like Phillip Glass played on a blown out turntable while children with steak knives in their hands tried to disembowel a drum kit. The sleeve perfectly captured the sound with its smiling characters atop a cloud floating through a field of layered patterns.
