Why is this particular German version so highly regarded by audiophiles?

LPs pressed by other nations (including the UK) of "Please, Please Me" used an Equalized tape with added reverb and compression.  The German pressing accidentally used a NON-EQ'd tape, resulting in a much cleaner and more open-sounding recording, without the heavy reverb.  The end result is a more natural sounding listening experience.

Vinyl Grade: Near Mint, a pristine example.  Vinyl shines like new, with no marks when examined under a light.  The best example I have found over the years. 

The labels are in superb condition, looking crisp and new, there are 2 very faint spindle marks on the Side One label (see photos), and just three faint spindle marks on Side Two label.  It is becoming rare to find any vintage Beatles LPs with true near mint labels and vinyl anymore.  For protection, the LP is stored in a poly inner sleeve, the original poly-lined paper sleeve is of curse included.

Inner Sleeve:  VG+ poly-lined shaped paper inner sleeve, small seam-split on one side only.  The LP is stored in a modern poly-inner sleeve to protect both the record and the original inner sleeve.

Cover Grade:  Near Mint.  Superb condition.  Fully laminated (front and back).  No seam splits, excellent corners, no discoloration, white background is uniform and bright. 

 

Notes: A very high quality collector example of this great Beatles album, known for being the best-sounding pressing of the Beatles' first album.  Extremely hard to find in such nice condtion.

Packaging (open LPs): The album will be removed from the cover to eliminate the possibility of seam-splits.  The LP and cover are placed in a clear outer protective sleeve, and sealed.  The (now sealed) album is then sandwiched between two large cardboard stiffener pads, carefully centered and taped together.  This keeps the LP stationary and the album cover centered, allowing the oversized cardboard reinforcement pads to protect the edges and corners of the cover from dings. 

The album “sandwich” is then packaged with bubble-wrap and Styrofoam peanuts in an oversize box.  The box is large enough that it should easily withstand even being dropped directly on its corner without damaging the cover inside.  I know very well what it is like to receive poorly packaged records, so I am careful to make sure your album is safely packaged and arrives safely.

Tracking: You should automatically receive your Tracking Number by email when the Shipping Label is printed.

Weight Limit of 4 Lbs. for International First Class Mail:  Please note that First Class International Mail has a 4 Lb. weight limit.  If you make multiple purchases and the combined weight is over the 4 Lb. weight limit we will have to use two separate First Class International packages or use Priority Mail International.  If your combined total is over 4 Lbs. then I will contact you about the shipping (one package vs. two), but the shipping cost should be basically the same.
