This 1968 pressing has the (later withdrawn) Claudia Cardinale photo, 'Stuck inside of Mobile with thee' song title incorrectly printed. It has smooth textured orange labels and comes with the original inners.

It remains in stunning condition.

My father bought it in Liverpool in November 1968. He'd only ever heard it in Mono and wanted to play it on his new Stereo set up. He thinks he played it four or five times but preferred the Mono copy. It has sat on a shelf for decades, untouched, until today, when I tested it.

GRADING:

COVER IS EX/EX+

Really clean and glossy. Some very minor edge wear and the spine is lovely and straight. Text fully readable.

INNERS ARE EX

Intact with no splits.

LABELS ARE EX

SIDE ONE and SIDE FOUR have barely any spindle marks whereas SIDE TWO and SIDE THREE have a few more. The marks are virtually invisible except when tilted to strong light.

This copy is unusual in that it has 'B. Feldman' publishing credits on Side 1 and Side 3 and 'Big Ben' on Side 2 and Side 4.

VINYL LOOKS EX

Clean and glossy, not dull or grubby. There are very fine sleeve surface scratches, of course, under very strong light. There are a few other light scratches but nothing to cause alarm.

PLAY GRADE: Using headphones with the amp set flat.

Super quiet at the run ins. All four sides have minimal background noise. Very clear and rich. A little thin on the bass end compared to a mono copy of the same age.

Two light static clicks on 'Pledging My Time' but nothing a good clean wouldn't fix.

'Visions of Johanna' is superb. Full, warm acoustic guitar and ghostly organ. Very good drum sound, too. Very 'real'. There is a short crackle near the end.

It really is a fabulous example.

It definitely needs a deep clean, to bring it back to its best, but as it is, it has to grade as EX.

I play test all my LPs - unless they are brand new and sealed.

I grade conservatively and honestly, as I am a long-time record collector and get tired of buying LPs that are not 'as described'.

*****There will be super light surface scratches, generally caused by paper sleeves. If they do not affect the sound, I don't class them as a fault.*****

Any scratches that aren't super-light surface ones will be mentioned, as will any clicks, pops or other intrusive noise.

Any writing or sticker marks will also be mentioned, along with serious creases, ring wear, spindle tracks or seam splits.

I don't clean my records prior to sending them out, as everyone has their own methods, and, for me at least, cleaning up a dusty old LP is part of the fun of collecting! I also don't have my old machine!

I pack the LPs well, out of the sleeve, in proper mailers.
