A very clean copy of "The African Beat" by Art Blakey and the Afro-Drum Ensemble. Art Blakey - drums, tympani, gong, telegraph drums; Solomon G. Ilori - vocal, penny whistle, talking drum; Chief Bey - conga, telegraph drum, double gong; Montego Joe - bambara drum, double gong, corboro drum, log drum; Garvin Masseaux - chekere, African maracas, conga; James Ola. Folami - conga; Robert Crowder - bata drum, congas; Curtis Fuller - tympani; Yusef Lateef - oboe, flute, tenor saxophone, cow horn, thumb piano; Ahmed Abdul-Malik - bass.
Vinyl is in VG++ condition. Play surfaces are very clean with two light marks on side one and one very light mark on side 2. Sleeve is NM- with light handling wear, a hint of ring wear, and a hint of foxing on the rear. (see photos)
