In 1989, before forming Radiohead, singer Thom Yorke was - briefly - in an Exeter-based band called "Headless Chickens" while at university. He would then go on to meet the other members of Radiohead and reform "On A Friday" in 1990 on returning to Oxford, before changing their name to Radiohead around 1991.
Very little information exists about Headless Chickens, however one of their songs - "I Don't Want To Go To Woodstock" - was committed to a very limited edition EP called "Hometown Atrocities", only available in 7" vinyl. This is believed to be Thom Yorke's first ever released recording.
This is that 7" vinyl EP.
This is pretty much the holy grail for any Radiohead collector, and shows the very humble beginnings of what went on to become - arguably - one of the best bands in the world.
There are very, very few copies of this single left. They are very, very rare. And most are in the hands of collectors.
