A Complete and UNIQUE pressing of this BEATLES masterpiece in great condition, that plays with TOP AUDIO.

Super Clear 1st MONO mix, which packs amazing drive and punch.

The Beatles, later known as the White Album, had over a quarter of a million advance orders, and of course went straight to number 1. This was the first double album EVER to get to the top slot where it stayed for 7 weeks in a row. It sold so many, that once again The Beatles also made the singles chart, consequently the ONLY double album to ever enter that chart. By the end of the year, just over a month later, the white album had sold over 4,000,000 copies worldwide, and by the end of 1970 global sales were around 6.5 million. At that time this was the biggest selling double album of all time.

The sleeve design was by Richard Hamilton, who suggested the minimalistic approach and the consecutively numbered sleeves which would give a limited edition feel to it. Richard also came up with the montage idea for the large free poster, which included the lyrics on it's rear. The four free colour prints were taken by John Kelly. Every single original pressing was unique, and came with a great collection of additional material. Also a ground breaking album, THE WHITE ALBUM is one of the great vinyl collectables of all time.

ALBUM PLAYED FOR GRADING:

Yes – Great sound quality throughout, this is a great original pressing of the White Album! Very little detectable static, just super clear, bright, loud fantastic sound! This great record plays up to the visual and audio grading and beyond, with incredible clear MONO sound, that can only be found on these rare 1st pressings.

The White Album is a complex and varied collection of music, and is also a relatively sensitive piece of vinyl, hard to find in clear audio condition. Worn copies can have a lot of surface sound even on musically complex and busy tracks like 'Helter Skelter.' This pressing has super clear sound with strong undistorted audio throughout.  It really sounds great and plays with great sound separation and clarity!

Superb sound, every track has been tested. Some very light occasional static, and it is light and occasional, the vast majority of the album sounds incredibly fresh and clean. Wonderful TOP audio, there are obviously NO sticks or jumps what so ever, NO distortion and little surface sound between the tracks.  I will give a detailed account below:

Bursting in with 'Back in the USSR' this great track often plays with lots of loud static and at times with a jump, that came as a pressing fault on some early editions. Not here, great audio, very little detectable background static, and certainly not any jumps or faults. 'Dear Prudence', such a hard track for the White Album, nearly always prone to heavy wear being the first quiet track on the record, here sounds great. It is crisp and clear with very little light static, and no loud pops or clicks during the music. There are two light tics but they are not at all obvious and any static that is there is barely noticeable. 'Glass Onion' sounds crisp and clear. No loud pops or clicks and not a hint of blurring or distortion. Bright audio with barely any background static at all.

'Obla Di Obla Da' also sounds great, playing with no background static and no pops or clicks. 'Honey Pie' plays very clearly with still no loud pops, clicks or even static tics. Leading into 'Bungalow Bill' which plays just superbly. Still no pops or clicks or loud static, just clear sound. There is barely any light static and the occasional static tic between tracks, but certainly nothing obtrusive.

'My Guitar Gently Weeps' also plays superbly, no detectable static at all, and no loud pops or clicks during the music, just beautiful clear, amazing sharp music. 'Happiness' rounds off side 1. again with bright clear sound. There is barely any light static at the start, just one light pop between tracks, and any there is really very hard to detect. No loud pops or clicks anywhere, just great bright sound. Fantastic.

Side 2. of the White Album virtually always starts off with heavy static. Here there is very little static at the start of 'Martha My Dear' and not a single loud pop or click throughout. Just some light occasional static during the track. 'So Tired' plays really well with little background static and certainly no pops clicks or even tics. Leading into 'Blackbird', of course one of the quietest tracks on the record. Here it plays with lovely clear bright sound, no loud pops, and just a couple of patches of light static and one or two light static tics. 'Piggies' sounds great, nice clear sound with no obvious tics or static. 'Rocky Racoon', another sparse track plays superbly, with great clear sound. There is some very light occasional static only. Leading into 'Don't Pass Me By', which plays with absolutely superb quality. 'Why Don't We Do It in The Road' also plays great with no pops, no clicks, and minimal background static. 'I Will', always a major test for the White Album, being such a quiet and sparse track plays brilliantly. It sounds crystal clear, with no distortion and virtually NO background static. This would be hard to better. An incredible performance of 'Julia' rounds off side 2. This is such a tender, delicate track and here it plays really beautify.  There two very light static tics near the start and some very faint occasional static only. No loud pops or clicks the music is really bright and clear. Amazing.

Side 3. begins with the rockous 'Birthday', which sounds great, bright loud superb audio. There is not a single pop or click during the music, and no background static. Moving into the paired down 'Yer Blues' which also plays with barely any occasional light background static, no pops or clicks. The sound is bright and clear.

'Mother Natures Son', another extremely delicate track usually blighted by heavy static and loud pops here sounds just incredible. Some very light static and a couple of random tics, and not a single loud pop or click throughout. 'Take it Easy' and 'Sexy Sadie' continue with no loud pops or clicks, and very little background static and just a single light pop at the start of Sadie. 'Helter Skelter', plays superbly, with bright clear audio. 'Long Long Time', another of the quietest tracks on The White Album, plays with no loud pops clicks. A couple of static tics and some very light, occasional static to be found.

Side 4. begins with 'Revolution' and plays with nice clear runs ins and great clear audio. A bit of light static at the very start and a couple of light tics, but no loud pops or clicks. 'Honey Pie', sounds great. There is some occasional noticeable static, but nothing obtrusive, and not a single loud pop or click. A couple of random static tics near the start. 'Savoy Truffle' plays with bright clear sound. 'Cry Baby Cry' and 'Can you Take Me Back', which plays so clear and bright, with occasional light static. The long abstract 'Revolution 9', a track that can be plagued by unwanted noise, sounds great, with no loud loud pops or clicks, just some light occasional static and some faint background tics. Leading into the final track of this Beatles masterpiece, 'Good Night', again a quiet track, so often playing with poor distorted sound, but on this press sounding great. Some light background static but no loud pops or clicks.

This is a great White Album and a really enjoyable listen. The music jumps out, with definition and clarity, the vocals which come through with tremendous power. Its the same with the bass guitar and drums, whilst the guitars come through crisp and clear. With the clear and extra loud First cut engineering giving the audio a vibrant sound which cannot be beaten.

Great first MONO mix, unlike the re-issues which lack the impact. I would have to give the Audio a grading of EXCELLENT to EXCELLENT PLUS.

THE RECORD - Visual Grading

A thick pressed set of glossy vinyls. Deep clear grooves that can only be found on the original early pressings. They have a few faint hairlines and handling marks, particularly on side 3. although they are all light and non sounding. A lovely set, and no serious marks that cause interference to the sound quality.

This record has been played very carefully and shows no groove wear. Unbelievable to think this vinyl is over 40 years old!

Graded at VERY GOOD PLUS to EXCELLENT PLUS.

VINYL TESTED FOR ANY SIGNS OF WARPING:

Yes, NONE visible what so ever, when tested be sight and on a moving turntable.

THE LABELS

Famous Apple labels are in great condition with barely any discernible spindle wear. Any spindle traces that are there are extremely light and barely visible. Great all round examples, with some slight toning down of the white areas and some light age spots.

Grades at EXCELLENT to NEAR MINT!

THE COVER

Comes with the original TOP Loading NUMBERED Gatefold Sleeve by GARROD & LOFTHOUSE.

A great example, it is made in the medium thick card and is fully laminated with the title THE BEATLES embossed under the laminate. Number 0299460.

This really is  a great cover, with little to fault it, other than some very light handling marks, a few small scuffs on the rear, some corner wear and a few light creases.

The cover has maintained its creamish white sheen, and light wear only.  There is no feathering to the Top openings, which is very rare.

Graded as EXCELLENT!

THE INNERS

So hard to find in original condition, and not replaced by late replicas, which are significantly different. Made out of very thin paper these Original BLACK  inner sleeves in EXCELLENT PLUS condition.  A great set. No seem splits, just lightly creased and one tiny slight tear to the die cut centre only. These incredibly delicate inner sleeve were usually destroyed and are often passed off with replacement replica inners, which are obviously different in form. So rare to find a complete original set in this condition. Incredible!

THE POSTER

Large original 1st press Lip Stick PHOTO-MONTAGE and LYRIC SHEET, 57 x 87 cms in great condition. Again, not to be confused with posters from later pressings, there 1st press posters are unique.

This complete example comes with NO slight tears to the seams, NO slight wear on the edges and barely any light discolouration. No writing, no pin-holes, no glue or sellotape marks.

Graded at EXCELLENT PLUS.

THE PRINTS

Comes with all Four Photos which are in EXCELLENT condition. All Four Prints, 20 x 29 cms, on the original Thick Card. - No tears, no writing, no pin-holes, no glue or sellotape marks. Some light scratches and creasing only. Juts a light scratch on the Paul print. A great and rare original set. Guaranteed!

THE PHOTO SPACER

Also comes with the ULTRA RARE PHOTO SPACER. These were included in the original 1st pressings only, as an aid to hang the four prints. As the four prints were nearly always stuck to peoples walls, this thin paper guide was nearly always lost or discarded. So incredibly rare to have one in EXCELLENT condition, very light creasing only.

Vinyl prices have soared over the last ten years, making classic examples a great financial and cultural investment.

.

VINYL SOUND - PLEASE NOTE:

Highest quality vinyl with clear sound is rare, and what we always aim for. We sell records that play with TOP AUDIO performance; clear sound uninterrupted by hiss or interference. Even with the cleanest vinyl pressing you will find occasional static or occasional light tics during playback, caused by a build up of dust and dirt in the wide vinyl grooves. This is clearly different from the distortion, loud pops, repeating tics or clicks that are found on heavily played and worn pieces of vinyl. Static build up can reduce when played, and we advise a clean between plays for optimal performance.

SCRUPULOUS EXAMINATION and TESTING:

All our records are play tested on highly sensitive equipment to ensure the sound quality and accuracy of description. We aim to give a precise and concise description of the sound, pointing out defects so that you know exactly what you are buying. We aim to describe our records as accurately as possible, and offer a full refund on return if for any reason you are not completely happy with the item description.

.

We use photographs of the item for sale taken with professional digital cameras. The images are designed to be as clear as possible, giving an accurate representation of the item. We aim to give sufficient and accurate detail as possible so that you know exactly what you are buying. Please let us know if you need any further information and we will be happy to oblige.
