For auction is a very rare early Second U.K. Press of Nick Drake’s debut album Five Leaves Left with the Pink Rim Island labels. Even second press sold very few, and this is one of the earliest of these as a) it has the original first issue gatefold sleeve made by Ernest J Day and co, rather than most second press sleeves which were made by Robor, and b) it has the mother/stampers of 1G/1R.

Sleeve - there is a front label-removal tear on the top right. Some edge and corner wear but no splits. Spine fully readable. Rear has some staining and a faint name written. Otherwise sleeve fully intact. Hence, considering the age, VG-.

The record appears at least excellent visually - in bright household light I can’t see any marks.

Sonically it rates excellent, with only occasional faint quiet crackles as an issue. No clicks, sticks, skips or jumps. And this was without cleaning!

Truly a beautiful example of this rare and iconic album.
