Jamie xx will release his debut album In Colour on June 2, 2015 via Young Turks. The eleven track offering includes the previously available “Girl” and “Sleep Sound” as well as current single “Loud Places,” which features vocals from Romy Madley Croft. There is also the forthcoming video for album lead off track, Gosh.

The release of In Colour comes on the back of an incredible six year creative period for Jamie, which has seen him alternate effortlessly between his role as founding member and producer of The xx, and creator of more electronic and club orientated music as Jamie xx. A string of acclaimed productions in recent years including debut solo single “Far Nearer,” remixes for the likes of Adele, Radiohead and Florence & The Machine, production work for Drake and Alicia Keys plus We’re New Here - Jamie’s seminal reworking of Gil Scott-Heron’s final studio album - hinted at what was to come.

With In Colour – a bold, celebratory, emotional record that features collaborations with The xx band mates Romy Madley Croft (“Seesaw” and “Loud Places”) and Oliver Sim (“Stranger In A Room”), Young Thug and Popcaan (“Good Times”) and Four Tet (“Seesaw”) – Jamie delivers his definitive artistic statement.

Artist & Album Information: Jamie xx is a vibrant, young artist and In Colour is both the summation of his career to date and the start of something new. In Colour is Jamie’s origin story: in the decade since joining The xx, he has grown from a shy teenage fan of electronic music into one of its most vital figureheads.

In Colour is about Jamie stepping out from the band and shaping a new future. Sonically, the album is a gripping, expansive, widescreen release. By turns it is sleek and modern, gritty and raw, loose and fun, reflective and thoughtful. The title is a sly nod to The xx’s monochromatic identity and perceived seriousness, which Jamie sees as a misrepresentation.

The album comes with an impressive and surprising list of collaborators. Along with Oliver and Romy, his bandmates in The xx, who both make vocal appearances, the album features a scene-stealing lead vocal from Atlanta rapper Young Thug, who Rolling Stone recently called the “most exciting new voice in hiphop – maybe in all of pop music.” The album’s eclectic cast is rounded out by Jamaican dancehall artist Popcaan and producer Four Tet.
