Blitzkrieg Bop b/w Havana Affair

Blitzkrieg Bop! Was the Ramones first single release both in USA and Europe. In the UK its release preceded the earliest British punk records by several months but it received little airplay and made no impression on the charts. It’s since of course, become a cult record and a rare collectors item. Examples with the original picture sleeve are very valuable.

This is copy of Blitzkrieg Bop is from my personal collection. I bought it back in 1976 when it was first released. Sadly, I did not get the picture sleeve version but this one still has the same Phonogram company sleeve that it came in when new.

Looking on Discogs, I see that two versions of this record are listed. One with a gold injection moulded label and one with a similar green label. I think however, they must be referring to the same colour label i.e. the same as the label on this copy, which I think you could easily describe as either gold or green depending on the way the light catches it

The playing surfaces both have quite a lot of light surface marks but there are no scratches and there is no audible effect on the sound apart from a little light crackling to the run-in and run-out grooves. It plays very cleanly all the way through.
