I am an audio enthusiast and thoroughly enjoy listening to my vinyl collection.  The records I sell are either duplicates to my collection or no longer my flavor of music.  My personal standards are very high, and as a result, I expect to provide the most accurate grading/description for each record listed.  I've purchased some vinyl on-line and have noticed that some sellers over-grade their vinyl.  Not all vinyl I sell will be perfect, but it will be accurately described within the limits of visual grading.  Please review my grading scale below, and know that it will be done per that scale.

Please ask any questions before bidding/purchasing.

Mint (M)

Perfect! Looks like it has just left the manufacturer with no flaws whatsoever. It looks as though it has never been handled or played. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains.

No wear, stickers, post-purchase labels, writing, tears or seam splits.

Near Mint (NM)

Appears virtually flawless.  A very minor scuff and very little else can appear on the vinyl.  It should play without any noise over the flaw.

Looks close to perfect with only minor signs of wear.  No stickers, post-purchase labels, writing, tears or seam splits.  Minor ring impressions to the cover may be acceptable, artwork is near perfect.

Excellent (EX)

There may be more than a few minor scuffs and NO scratches (felt with a fingernail).  Minor scuffs which are only slightly visible and do not exceed 15% of the surface.  Should play without any noise over the flaw(s) unless during a quite passage of a track or between tracks.

Artwork is close to perfect.  Some minor ring wear, but no ink wear.  Some slight creases and or wear to the corners, but not wrinkled or obtrusive to the eye.  No seam splits, stickers, post-purchase labels, writing or taped repairs.

Very Good Plus (VG+)

There will be more than a few minor scuffs and/or light surface scratches which are visible and do not exceed 30% of the surface.  Some audible surface noise, but should not overwhelm the musical experience, unless during a quite passage of the track or between tracks.

Virtually clean, but may have small writing on it.  Artwork should look clean. Some visible ring wear, with light ink wear.  Flat white paper will be somewhat yellow, yet no stains or mildew.  Some minor wear to the seams or spine, but no tears or holes.  The corners may be slightly dog-eared.  This grade should have no more than 3 flaws mentioned.

Very Good (VG)

Record displays visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches and groove wear. Expect some audible surface noise, but should not overwhelm the musical experience.

Will look worn/used and may have small writing on it.  Artwork shows some wear, but still presentable.  Visible ring wear, with ink wear (looks like falling snow around disc periphery).  May have yellowing, light stains, but no mildew. Some wear to the seams or spine, but no completely separated seams.

Good
(G)

Will appear very well played, dull, grayish and possibly abused, but should still play. It will have distracting surface noise, such as crackle that is continuous or some hiss.  Will also have some loss of dynamics caused from grooves being worn.  It should play without any skips or  obtrusively loud pops.

Will have seam splits possibly repaired with scotch tape.  May have magic marker writing.  Will looked worn possibly with small tears, yellowing and/or staining.
