LED ZEPPELIN II LP 1969
PYE CONTRACT PRESSING with MISPRINT
Due to the popularity of this record upon release, Polydor subcontracted Pye to press a limited number of records (manufactured in the U.S) to meet the demand. These rare Pye pressings are identified by a groove on the inner label, as can be seen on this copy in the photo's.
Pye Contract Pressings are also identified by their hand etched matrix numbers ending with 'A' and 'B' only (no further digits or characters following), with further evidence found in an error in the hand etched matrix number on side B, whereby the 3rd digit (erroneously etched as a 9) is scratched out and an 8 is etched just above it, as can be seen on this copy in the photo's.

There is a further misprint on the label tracklisting of this copy, where song B4 is erroneously printed as 'THANKYOU', as per the photo's. Later pressings have the correctly printed 'THANK YOU'.
Record is a strong VG showing faint hairline surface marks, sleeve removal marks and signs of play, none of which overpower the music during playback (some light surface crackle is audible at very low volume, becoming inaudible with the volume up to 1/4). There are a few more noticeable surface marks visible on side 2 track 5 but these do not affect playback to the detriment of the grading. Original red & plum labels are still bright & vibrant.

Unlaminated gatefold sleeve is VG, showing some general signs of storage wear with scuffing to seams and corners and some rubbing/ringwear to front and rear, as per photo's. Complete with original label inner sleeve.

Record will be shipped in a 12” vinyl mailer + stiffener.
