This is a MONO Japanese pressing of The Beatles
record Beatles No. 5 (Japanese Version). It is a uniquely Japanese record. It was
issued as #28 in the series on 07/05/1976 by Toshiba EMI LTD on black
vinyl. This series was only released on
black vinyl. There is a single LP in a non-gatefold cover with an OBI. There is also a 4-page booklet with photos and
the lyrics in English and Japanese that is in excellent condition with 2 slight
bends along the right edge. The record is from my personal collection and was
initially cleaned on a VPI record vacuum and treated with Last Record
preservative. It was recently demagnetized and re-cleaned with an Audio Desk Ultra-sonic
record cleaner.
The record was recently
play graded using a Lyra Kleos on a VPI Classic IV turntable. I did not play the record with a mono
cartridge. The record is in mint- condition
with no scuffs or scratches. The record plays very quietly with only 1 light tick
noted on side 1 and 0 noted on side 2.
The
jacket is in excellent condition no tears, seam splits, but does have a small
dent along the top near the edge of the OBI, and the lower right corner has
some slight compression. The record also has the original loose shrink wrap
that was used in the release of this series. The OBI is in mint- condition with no bends or
tears. The insert has is excellent as noted above.
I will be selling off some
of my Japanese Beatles collection over the next few weeks. Please be sure to look
for more of my listings from this series of 41 LPs issued by Toshiba EMI between
1976 and 1982. I have a complete set and will eventually be listing them all.
