Released in 1966 on Capitol Records (TAO-2574) as the drug culture really took off, with the purpose of educating the listener in the dangers (or not) of experimenting with the dreaded - lysergic acid diethylamide - (LSD).
Side One: The Scene
Side Two: The Trip
A documentary styled recording that has input from various experts and doctors discussing the pros and cons of the drug. Input can be heard from the usual suspects including Allen Ginsberg, Sidney Cohen and everyone’s favorite son Dr. Timothy Leary. Side two features an individual experiencing an actual “bad trip”. No groovy found in those grooves.
This record is simply a fascinating peek into the culture at the time it was pressed. To drug or not to drug, that was the question. A piece of the mid nineteen sixties vibe forever embedded in vinyl. Another facet of collecting vinyl.
The overall condition of this copy is solid VG. The vinyl is clean and scratch free. Not something that amassed thousands of listens I suspect. The gatefold cover has some wear but remains sturdy. There is some normal shelf where but nothing bad. There is one area that has been neatly taped and measures a few inches in length. See the last two photos for a front and back look at the taped area.
I’ve priced this one to move and took into consideration any flaws that have been pointed out. A NM copy would be in the low to mid three digit scope so if you’d be happy with a pretty good copy at a quarter of that price than this one is for you.
Thank you for allowing me a bit of your time
