BLACK SABBATH-PARANOID 1970 WARNER BROS. RECORDS GATEFOLD WHITE LABEL PROMO COPY LP WS 1887 IN A SOLID VG+ CONDITION. NICE VINYL!! The 2nd release from Ozzy Osbourne and the boys in this auction and arguably, the birth of Heavy Metal as well. Hard to start a genre but Sabbath certainly got that started on their debut and solidified it all with this one. Such classic gems as the title cut, War Pigs, Electric Funeral and Faeries Wear Boots all appear on this landmark, must own early 70's release. All fans of the band or the genre need this one in their collection, an absolute essential indeed!!
The record is in a solid VG+ condition and I want to give as complete a review as I can, I just played it. The record has a very light scuff & 2 very light and small hairlines on side 1 yet there still is some light surface noise in Planet Caravan, crackles and a couple of pops. On side 2 there is a more egregious blemish, in the opening of the vocals on Hand Of Doom, there is a skip and a couples of crackles, it then stops and plays fine the rest of the side through. The overall look to side 2 would be to say very light surface wear (very light scuffs, a few hairlines, etc.). The gatefold cover, in the fold-right sleeve where the track list is located, the former owner put very small pen lines next to their favorite tracks. It is by 5 of the 8 listed, a satisfied listener. There is a small white sticker in the upper right hand corner with the #151 on it(see picture, minor wear along the edges, minor rubs on the corners and some light ring wear / aging both front and back. The original inner sleeve has a split yet holds the record fine. A fantastic buy!! I hope this finds it's way to the true fan!!
