In 1984 the time cames, when the 3rd and so far most elaborate VENOM album ''At War With Satan'' was released. The first thing that stands out here is the significantly better production compared to ''Black Metal'' and above all ''Welcome To Hell'', as well as the elaborate fold-out cover that represents the book cover of a Satanist Bible. The Newcastle Trio presents here also the ultra-iconic 20-minute concept title track ''At War With Satan'', which is made up of innumerable parts and deals with the devil's conquest of heaven. Atmospherically astonishingly dense and even without thick effect ceilings, the everlasting one fight between good and evil is the theme here. Make it or break it is always the name of the game when a band starts their 3rd album. VENOM preferred to postpone the break it part until later and started with make it at first. All in all, Cronos roars like a mad pig, Abaddon treats his drum kit like it's his mother-in-law and Mantas plays the guitar like a berserk, what more could you want?
