This particular copy is an example whereby the record is in better nick than the sleeve but read on...
1970 Trojan TBL 119 UK LP 'The Good, The Bad And The Upsetters'.
Laminated sleeve front and spine with the original '19/11' blue price sticker. Someone has added 'invisible' tape to the top and bottom edges which is fairly well done and has certainly afforded protection over the years. Shame there's a small tear at the mouth but is taped over to stop it spreading. Other items include some laminate shrinkage creasing, mild ringwear and corner rubs plus a price sticker blemish on the rear. Overall then I rate the sleeve 5.75 /10 for condition.
At 145g the flat and bright vinyl is of a goodly medium weight. Nice clean Trojan labels with signs of only a handful of plays at the tight spindle holes.
The matrices on the dead wax run-offs are TBL+119+A and TBL+119+B respectively.
Under the unforgiving table lamp I really can't see much wrong with the record bar a few light 'storage' blemishes so I'm sticking my neck out and saying that visually I reckon it's worthy of 8.75 /10.
I'm giving it a twirl on the hi-fi as I write this. Ahh...The Upsetters! The backbone house band for Lee Perry although this album is produced by Bruce Anthony...upbeat and extremely danceable. I'm not hearing much wrong regarding the soundplay quality. Quiet on the dead bands between the tracks which is always a good indicator of a clean disc. Sure, the occasional light click or pop but probably the dust gremlins in the main. To my ears it plays well so I'm plumbing for a conservative 8.75 /10 again. A nice example. If you disagree then send it back, no problem.
