New still sealed version of First Steps by the legendary Unifour Jazz Ensemble with leader Tom Smith produced by UniJazz Records. Recorded at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute, Hudson, NC. Tom Smith is a widely acknowledged pioneer of the American community jazz movement. The Unifour Jazz Ensemble was an 18-piece big band and first entirely state funded big band in the United States, that placed seventh in the 1988 Down Beat Readers Poll.
