Joe Turner - The Boss of the Blues LP (1956, Atlantic) Mono DG 1st Press VG/VG++

Artist: Joe Turner

Album: The Boss of the Blues Joe Turner Sings Kansas City Jazz

Description: 1956 Mono 1st press on Atlantic Records.  Black label with deep groove on both sides. Early 12" record.  Interestingly, has a stamp from the well-known New Haven, CT shop David Dean Smith.  The original owner of this was a DJ at the Yale radio station in the 1950's.

Sleeve Condition: Strong VG, sleeve has great color, presents very well.  No splits, tears or ring wear.  The front does have a dime size paper tear near the left edge and some scuffing above the red dot.  Back has some scuffing along the left edge and a paper tear near the top right corner. As mentioned the David Dean Smith stamp is there as well, but I would think that adds to it's historical appear.  The inner sleeve was destroyed, so I replaced it with a new archival inner. This is a pretty strong VG, there are just too many issues to call it VG+ even though it looks really good.

Vinyl: VG+/VG++, visually this very clean.  There are no noticeable scuffs or scratches on side 1.  There is one very light 1cm scuff on track 1, side 2.  Other than that, there are just a couple of minor imperfections if you hold it up in bright light, but that's being super picky.  I have play tested the LP and it sounds great, music comes through clean and clear.  No pops, skips, etc.  Labels are both very clean with just a few very light spindle marks.  No writing or fading.  This has clearly been well-taken care of and there's very little sign that this has been played more than a couple of times.  Just great condition overall.  You'll be very pleased with this one.  Don't miss grabbing it today!

I want buying from me to be a good experience for you.  I also know that condition can be very subjective, so I encourage you to see pics for exact condition details and ask questions if you need additional information.  As always, the item you see is the one you will get.  Please see my feedback, I think that will show that I am an accurate and fair grader and make sure my customers are happy.
