MY GRADING SCALE:
Below are definitions of each of my grading categories. I USE THE GOLDMINE GRADING STANDARD AS THE BASIS FOR GRADING ALL LP's AND 45's. Covers are graded separately.
Near Mint: NM covers are free of creases, ring wear and seam splits of any kind. NM records are shiny, with no visible defects.
VG++: May have just a couple of ghost marks or an extremely light sleeve line. This will be a very clean high gloss copy. Any record in this grade can be expected to be a strong collectors keeper. Cover will have no edge wear, no ring wear, and, no splits. A VG++ cover may be slightly bumped on one or more corners but this will be minor.
VG+: Will show a few more signs of normal use and wear. May have very light superficial marks and rubs but will be a well taken care of copy. The record may play with isolated noise during intro's and in isolated lower passages of music. The noise will be very isolated and very light. It will never overpower the music.
VG: Covers will have many signs of human handling. Ring wear in the middle or along the edges of the cover where the edge of a record would reside, is obvious, though not overwhelming. Some more creases might be visible. Seam splitting will be more obvious. The cover may have writing or price stickers.
VG-: A decent copy and one that can still be enjoyed but one that I do not normally offer unless it is rare or of substantial value. This would have many marks but at VG- will be a copy that can still be played and enjoyed.
G: Not offered unless it is among the rarest of the rare and then strictly as a place holder in your collection. This grade speaks for itself. Any cover or record requiring this grade will be described in full at the time. Photos and description will give details on any and all defects.
Sealed Copies: Covers are graded the same as any other cover. The vinyl is always assumed to be factory mint. Sealed records have higher selling prices because they are sealed. I will work with any buyer who receives defective or damaged vinyl, but, please keep this in mind, once you open a sealed copy much of its value is immediately depreciated.
ABOUT ME:
I am a collector and local dealer here in New Orleans and have been selling records for over 10 years. Foremost I am a music and record lover. I grew up in the 70's and my trips to the record store with my family are some of my fondest memories. I loved it on sunday mornings when my dad pulled out his records and played them while mom cooked breakfast. You have my word as someone who treasures and appreciates records that i will grade every record I sell as though I were buying it myself. Money is to precious in these hard times to waste. I don't like wasting mine and I will never make you waste yours. Thanks for viewing my listing and happy digging... All grading is visual unless otherwise stated. Due to time constraints I am not able to play each record. Some records will be visually graded, some will be spot played and some will be fully play graded. Grading method will be stated in each listing immediately before the records grade. Visually graded records have a no refund policy. Sealed records are sold as collectibles. The vinyl is assumed to be factory mint. Once you open the shrink you may not return the record.
