• Turn Blue is The Black Keys eighth full-length album and follows 2011’s critically and commercially acclaimed, Grammy-winning El Camino
• Produced by Danger Mouse, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney
• LP includes a bonus full size poster and CD of entire album
• DVD features 17 song 2008 concert + three original music videos & behind-the-scenes extras!
The Black Keys’ new album, Turn Blue, was produced by Danger Mouse, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney and features 11 new tracks including the first single, “Fever.” This is the eighth full-length album from the duo and follows 2011’s critically and commercially acclaimed, Grammy-winning El Camino, which is now certified RIAA Platinum. Of the new album - which was announced via a cryptic Tweet from former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and an accompanying David Lynchian video - the band says Turn Blue could refer to: suffocation, sadness, numbness from extreme cold and a Cleveland late night TV host from the 1960's named Ghoulardi. Moreover, Carney comments, “We are always trying to push ourselves when we make a record—not repeat our previous work but not abandon it either. On this record, we let the songs breathe and explored moods, textures and sounds. We’re excited for the world to hear Turn Blue.”
THE BLACK KEYS – LIVE AT THE CRYSTAL BALLROOM (DVD)
Produced and directed by Lance Bangs (R.E.M.’s Road Movie), the DVD includes 17 live songs; original music videos for “Your Touch,” “Just Got to Be,” and “Strange Times”; and behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the band’s Attack & Release album. The live performance was recorded on April 4, 2008, at a sold-out show at The Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. The live concert can be viewed in its entirety or accessed track by track. This DVD may be just as satisfying, if not downright revelatory, for anyone craving an unadulterated rock sound worthy of being labeled classic right now. Widescreen transfer to disc, letterboxed at the 1.78:1 aspect ratio on conventional televisions and enhanced for anamorphic play on 16x9 monitors. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo.
