Hi! You are bidding on The Late Great Townes Van Zandt, an album by the late great Townes Van Zandt. This particular copy was released in Britain in 1973 by United Artists Records, catalog number UAS 29442. The record is in very good condition. It has no skips or scratches, but it does have a few very very light pops. Two on "Sad Cinderella;" one on "German Mustard;" one on "Pancho and Lefty;" and one on "Heavenly Houseboat Blues." The pops are barely noticeable, but it makes a VG+ record a VG record. The record jacket is very lightly yellowed, and has a seam separation at the top right, which could be easily mended with light glue or clear tape. The original price stickers are attached to the front of the jacket. Yes, I did pay 50 pence for this album, which at the time was about 70 cents. If memory serves me correctly, it was purchased from the bargain bin at the late lamented OneUp Record Shop in Aberdeen.
Songs are:
SIDE ONE:
No Lonesome Tune Sad Cinderella German Mustard Don't Let the Sunshine Fool Ya Honky Tonkin' Snow Don't Fall
SIDE TWO:
Fraulein Pancho and Lefty (misspelled "Poncho and Lefty" - when will they ever learn?) If I Needed You Silver Ships of Andilar Heavenly Houseboat Blues
I have to say that the version of "Snow Don't Fall" on this album is one of the best studio recordings of a TVZ song I've ever heard. It sounds as though he's right there in the room with you.
If you're wondering why I'm giving up this masterpiece, well it's because I found out that I had all of the songs on a High Low and In Between CD, and I had bought this album to play on the radio. So now someone else can own this treasure, and I still have all of the songs for airplay.
Winning bidder to pay $3.45 media rate postage in the U.S. Personal cheque preferred; there is no holding period for cheques. Please e-mail with any questions.
Good luck, and thanks for looking!
