KAMPFAR have now become an indispensable institution in Norwegian Pagan/Black Metal. Three years after the highly acclaimed ''Profan'' album, the quartet returns with their 8th full lenght record ''Ofidians Manifest'' and processes depressing stages of life with a musical liberation, whose powerful production is highly worth listening to. In any case, it can hardly be stressed enough with what range of expression Dolk comes up in the 41 minutes on ''Ofidians Manifest''. As on ''Profan'', it is also not the great hits this time, but the small details and subtleties in the arrangement of the 7 tracks that make up the album. Compromises are still not the thing of KAMPFAR, who refine their personal style with heavy metal passion without basically deviating from the path. If you want to hear straightforward Norwegian Black Metal with depth, you can hardly get past KAMPFAR. Would the band break up again after this album because they would have concentrated all their strength in the face of the abysses, it would be a terrific legacy of metal musicians, who took up a lot of speed in middle age. Comes as a limited gold vinyl in a gatefold cover.
