Ramones End Of The Century Vinyl LP Sire Records 1980 England Pressing PUNK.

The very beginning of side two, I am talking here about the first few seconds of Baby I Love You, has a heartbeat skip, I also noticed very slight surface noise intermittently on the same side. The record has some light superficial marks, however despite all this the record in general sounds marvellous, and I would have no major concerns, if it was in my collection. I am only selling it as we, here at the vault, have a spare, this is my wife's copy.

The record has been test played in its entirety and overall, I am very happy with the sonic playback.

The original red lyric inner has some markings, I think it might be pencil, but I'm not sure, it's not majorably noticeable, the lyrics are still legible, and the inner also has the same art portrait that was used on The Ramones, best ever selling single, Baby I Love You. The inner also has a very small spilt seam, I have repaired it with magic invisible. I have placed record in a brand new anti static inner for added protection.

The cover has some very slight shelf and ring wear, but generally looks great! I also noticed some sticker residue on the top left hand corner, it's very faded and smooth and barely discernable.

I have not mentioned the music! Please check out my other End Of The Century listings on CD, and I think I also have it included as one of my streamer beating bundles. One of my little hobbies is my amateur album reviews that I sometimes add to my listings, and as far as I can remember, I did one for End Of The Century.

I recommend this album very much, if you are a casual vinyl fan and just want to have a decent copy in your collection, for a brilliant price. Keep in mind, this is the original, a genuine piece of punk history. This was punk trying to evolve and go in a different direction, fuelled by Joey's love of the sixties, very high standard of pop hits.

Phil Spector added his sophisticated wall of sound to American punk, with very interesting results. Many view this album as a glorious failure! Personally I found it fascinating, and very enjoyable and harmonic!

As far as I am aware, no other punk band tried this approach, The Ramones hiked this pathway for everyone else. Punk did evolve, but it went on the hardcore trail, fuelled by the anger, many felt towards the Regan administration, The Ramones eventually joined this party themselves, reminding all the other bands, that they were still the masters of this genre with the politically charged masterpiece Too Tough Too Die!

Keep in mind that this is the original first UK pressing from 1980. I find it amazing that the more they repress brand new Ramones albums on the standard 180 gram vinyl, the more you punk fans, seem to want the originals!

If you want it in mint condition, do not buy this one, I have a mate in New York who recently bought a Near Mint copy for a few hundred dollars! This one will look really cool and iconic your collection, and sound almost as good for a fraction of the price!
