Scarce private NW bluegrass 45: RICHARD PURDY & THE BEAVER TRAIL BOYS - THE BALLAD OF D. B. COOPER b/w WE WANT LAVA - Azimuth Records, AZ-451, released in 1980, and SIGNED by two band members. 

DB Cooper is a Pacific NW legend - he is the only US airplane hijacker who was never caught, and he escaped with $200,000 by parachuting from the plane "to an uncertain fate". Richard Purdy owns a Tavern in Ariel, Washington, a town located just a few miles southeast of the area where the FBI thinks that Cooper might have landed. They hold an annual DB Cooper anniversary party, and recorded this private press record in 1980. The B-side is a song about the eruption of Mt. Saint Helens ("What kind of volcano merely burps ash? We want lava"). Very hard to find, the picture sleeve even more so. Hear both sides on my youtube channel, "Ham Randy".

Condition: NM/VG+ (the record looks perfect; the sleeve seams were never glued together, is a bit tanned and has minor wrinkling).
