Schoolboys EP RARE! 1980 Attendance Records, Icon, King Kobra, Big Cock.
This is a OPENED, MINT UNPLAYED RARITY, only 10 of these test pressings with this sepia back cover with yellow I.D. Cards ever existed. It
has had the seal opened, but never played in the 41 years! The Condition is perfect, less the torn cellophane seal, other than that it's in new mint condition.
There were only 10 of these test pressings produced in 1980. I have held onto this EP Record for 41 years, and apparently there’s some interest in them, and these are the last two unsealed test pressings left available that I am aware of.
This album contains the song Mean Street machine as it was first released in 1980. The song was re-recorded when David Henzerling, a.k.a. David Michael Phillips, joined King Kobra with Carmine Appice. The song was also re-recorded again with original Schoolboys members John Covington on Drums and Dave Henzerling on guitar, along with Robert Mason of Lynch Mob and Cry of Love fame, before he sang with Big Cock on their 4 CD releases, which also included the 3rd released version of Mean Street Machine (Big Cock, Year of the Cock) and now Robert is the lead singer for Warrant.
Schoolboys 1980 line up: Steve Clifford, Vocals/keys, Dan Wexler, Guitars, David Henzerling (David Michael-Phillips) Guitar, and John Covington (me, the guy who has held on to these gems for 41 years) Drums & Percussion.
3 of the 5 members on this EP went on to form the band Icon which had two releases on Capital Records in the early 80’s.
I have two other versions, public versions only 1000 ever produced, 1 still factory sealed, and 4 Virgin, never played issues but the cellophane wrapper has been opened. So check out my other auctions to get a less but still rare copy of this EP if you’re a die-hard Schoolboys, Icon, Big Cock fan!
