Blind Willie Johnson 1927 - 1930 USA RBF Mono Label 1965 1st Issue and colour wave

On offer here is a true 1st issue of the RBF collection of recordings by Blind Willie Johnson, undoubtedly one of the finest Blues and Gospel singers to walk the earth. This LP is a collection of some of the few recordings he made and is a great accompaniment piece to the earlier Folkways LP. The recordings are obviously from between 1927 - 1930 and as such are not the best for sound quality on modern equipment.
The beautiful wrap around USA cover is in superb condition and has no splits and little wear at all. There are a few light pen ticks next to song titles and a small number on the bottom of reverse, barely visible and by no means a distraction. Solid, clean and looking great.
The vinyl is in Ex condition with few signs of play, a couple of very light scuff/nail marks only, however being recorded from 78's the sound is typical of this type and will vary depending on your hifi set up, a mono cartridge and stylus helps but do not expect stereo quality sound. Be content owning a LP by a great man and singer, the likes of which will not come around again.
There is also a lovely original 4 page insert with info and lyrical content.
