Recorded Live at Carnegie Hall On April 17th, 1979
Fantastic job of turning the cassette of a show in 1979 into a singular listening experience. This is simply Dan Fogelberg, with no backing band or background vocals. Evidently, his parents were in attendance for this event, and boy-oh-boy did their son do them proud. He effortlessly moves from instrument to instrument, making the show sound as intimate as if he were playing in your backyard.

The highlights are many, especially for Fogelberg fans. But topping them all, I would have to say, is his performance of Same Old Lang Syne; the song itself is a year from being released as a single and two years from the release of The Innocent Age LP on which it appeared. Still, the song was fully formed and perfectly performed on this particular night...just Dan Fogelberg on his piano...the beauty of the song (and the story) on full display, without the saccharine saxophone solo of the studio version (which, lovely as it is, carbon dates the song for posterity).

A truly unexpected treat from Jean Fogelberg, not to mention her incredibly gifted husband. Thanks to Irving Azoff and all the other talented people who made this happen.
