For auction is a very interesting rarity.

This is an original 1963 stereo copy of THE BEATLES - PLEASE PLEASE ME. With the original 1/1 matrices.

The sleeve and labels conform with the (still very early) 4th stereo press, but the record has been stamped with incredibly early stampers.

Side one is pressed with the 1G stamper which was used for the incredibly desirable Blank and Gold label first presses.

Side two is pressed with the almost unseen 1A stamper.

I have never heard of an early stereo copy with this combination of stampers.

The sleeve is in VG condition with some staining to the rear but otherwise in decent condition.

Original use Emitex inner sleeve in excellent condition

Record labels VG+ condition.

YEX 94-1/95-1 matrices.

Record visually is between VG- and VG. Numerous scuffs and other marks but nothing that caused sticks skips or jumps. Plays through with some crackles and occasional light clicks. Lies fully flat on the turntable. Weight 159g.

This is being auctioned for a) it’s rarity and b) that the record itself was likely among the first 2000 pressed.

It is very difficult to clearly show the stamper letters and numbers on the record - I have tried to highlight the area on the appropriate photos.
