The 3rd studio full lenght album ''Alptraumgänger'' by the Bavarian black metal trio SCHRAT was first time released in 2018. For almost 48 minutes, SCHRAT hate their way through a black fabric of MARDUK and mid-early SETHERIAL. Partial homage is also paid to DARK FUNERAL & GORGOROTH, so at its core you can expect hyper-fast, nihilistic blast beat black metal, but it's kept pleasingly varied. The combination of DARKTHRONE groove and raging, sometimes clashing, sometimes rough riffs, the unbelievable aggressiveness, the straightforwardness and the renunciation of big melodies and other effeminacies, all this makes the album outstandingly strong. The uncompromisingness of the protagonists is impressive, downright compelling. If you like to turn back time by 25 years or have heard the classics of your youth too often, but don't want to change musically, you should definitely check out ''Alptraumgänger''. Because with it, SCHRAT have added one of the more listenable contributions to the genre from their home country. The black vinyl version is limited to only 200 copies and comes in a gatefold cover.
