Credited to Billie Stewart, this is a 1947 recording of the "suicide song" first recorded on Columbia in 1941. Side '2' is also recorded in 1947 and different to other versions. A few light scuffs and rubs. Plays with a slight degree of surface noise, due to poor shellac. A couple of small pressure marks, not affecting play. Surface noise is even throughout with a few light ticks. No clicks, pops or distortion throughout. Comes in plain brown cardboard sleeve.
On 07-Sep-22 at 19:44:58 BST, seller added the following information:I have heard AND read that this IS actually Billie Holiday and this was done for "tax purposes". However I was messaged about it and told it may not be, so have done further research. I can't find any mention of THIS recording with Holiday's name attached. Also, by doing a voice comparison (just with my own ears) I'm not absolutely sure myself now...
