100% GENUINE COMPLETE UK 1st EVER PRESSING.

Let It Bleed is the eighth British album by The Rolling Stones, released in December 1969 on Decca Records in the United Kingdom and London Records in the United States. Released shortly after the band's 1969 American Tour, it is the follow-up to 1968's Beggars Banquet and the last album by the band to feature Brian Jones as well as the first to feature Mick Taylor.

Released in December, Let It Bleed reached #1 in the UK (temporarily knocking The Beatles' Abbey Road out of the top slot) and #3 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart in the US, where it eventually went 2x platinum.

Although they had begun the recording of "You Can't Always Get What You Want" in May 1968, before Beggars Banquet had been released, recording for Let It Bleed began in earnest in February 1969 and would continue sporadically until October. Brian Jones performs on only two tracks, playing the autoharp on "You Got the Silver", and percussion on "Midnight Rambler". His replacement, Mick Taylor, plays guitar on two tracks, "Country Honk" and "Live With Me". Keith Richards, who had already shared vocal duties with Mick Jagger on "Connection", "Something Happened to Me Yesterday" and "Salt of the Earth", sang his first solo lead vocal on a Rolling Stones recording with "You Got the Silver".

The cover displays a surreal sculpture designed by Robert Brownjohn. The image consists of the Let It Bleed record being played by the tone-arm of an antique phonograph, and a record-changer spindle supporting several items stacked on a plate in place of a stack of records: a tape canister labelled Stones - Let It Bleed, a clock face, a pizza, a tyre and a cake with elaborate icing topped by figurines representing the band. The cake parts of the construction were prepared by then-unknown cookery writer Delia Smith. The reverse of the LP sleeve shows the same "record-stack" assemblage in a state of disarray. The artwork was inspired by the working title of the album, Automatic Changer.

Let It Bleed is the second of the Stones' run of four studio LPs that are generally regarded as among their greatest achievements artistically, the other three albums being Beggars Banquet (1968), Sticky Fingers (1971) and Exile on Main Street (1972).

ALBUM PLAYED FOR AUDIO GRADING:

Yes – great sound quality throughout!

This great record plays up to the visual and audio grading and beyond, with super clear sound from this original 1st MONO pressed vinyl.

Let It Bleed is a complex and varied collection of music, and is also a relatively sensitive piece of vinyl, hard to find in clear audio condition. Worn copies can have a lot of surface sound even on musically complex and busy tracks like 'Gimme Shelter.' This pressing has super strong undistorted audio, with clear QUALITY sound.

There is very little light occasional static, no repetative tics and no loud pops or clicks. Wonderful TOP audio, there is NO distortion, NO sticks or jumps what so ever. There is certainly no dominant  interference, and NO loud pops or clicks or distortion anywhere. I'll give a detailed account below:

Beginning with the iconic 'Gimme Shelter', the music comes in with super clear audio, no loud pops or clicks and extremely clean run ins. The sound s just sensational, deep and bassy and clear. There are no light static tics at the start and no detectable light static.

'Love In Vain', which demonstrates The Rolling Stones incredible subtle production layering, even in seemingly paired down track like this, with notes and effects that are usually lost on even relatively played vinyls. Here the audio is incredibly bright an clear, with no pops, clicks and little static. There is one light static tic between tracks.

'Country Honk', a real test on this album due to its many layered sections sings out with very little background static and no random tics in the run ins and quiet areasStill no loud pops or clicks during the music, and not a hint of distortion. In fact I may as well confirm now that there is not a hint of distortion anywhere on this great vinyl.

The massive 'Live With Me' plays with bright clear sound, and the instrumental section layered again, sounds great. Barely any detectable background static.

Rounding off side 1. with 'Let It Bleed' , this incredible track just sounds amazing. Great clear sound with that deep echoey audio that the Mono pressings really allow you to hear, no pops or clicks.

Side 2. comes in with the great 'Midnight Rambler', following clear run ins, a bit of light static, and then the audio is just superb, with no loud pops or clicks and clear vocal layering.

'You Got The Silver', another delicate track also sings out, with great clarity and barely any surface sound, which is incredible for such a delicate track. Another track often blighted with loud pops, clicks, buzzing crackle and distortion, but not here. The quiet intro plays superbly. There are two light tics, but these are not intrusive. When the vocals come in the quiet areas are incredibly clear. A superb clear playing track.

'Monkey Man' sounds just amazing, it just sounds so clear. A bit of light static but nothing obtrusive. All the way through every track plays with incredible definition. Every note and every bar of Keith's guitar are outstanding.

The complex arrangements in 'You Cant Always Get What You Want' play so well, with great audio precision. In the amazing London Bach Choir intro, the audio is very clean. A couple of random light tics but certain no loud pops or clicks. Great clear sound, some occasional light static, and then when the Mick Jagger intro starts it's even clearer, and the music is so quiet.

This is a great audio performance from an outstanding rare vinyl. A total lack of loud pops, clicks, obtrusive interference, and certainly no distortion anywhere on this great pressing, makes this a great collectable press of this great record. The music jumps out, with definition and clarity, the vocals which come through with tremendous power. The tonal quality and clean quality make this a sensational pressing. Often the Mono mastering on these early pressings had a bit of a dull sound but not with this one. The clear and extra loud First cut Mono engineering giving this audio a great vibrant sound.

This is a great all round example of this classic vinyl. A staggering first Mono mix, unlike the re-issues which lack the impact. A great all round example of this great vinyl.

This is a great audio pleasure that would be hard to improve on, and I would give the sound a NEAR MINT to MINT grading.

THE RECORD - VISUAL GRADING

This is a superb piece of glossy vinyl, and a really thick pressing. Deep clear grooves that can only be found on the original pressings, this vinyl has only been played a couple of times. The record has great shine, with some light marks seen in strong daylight. Inspected under a spot light it still looks great, with some very light paper removal marks, and whispy lines.

Unbelievable to think this record is over 40 years old!

VINYL TESTED FOR ANY SIGNS OF WARPING:

Yes, NONE visible what so ever when tested be sight and on a moving turntable.

LABELS

Splendid deeply coloured attractive examples.  No wear around the hole areas, with all ink uneroded and fully intact. A few light barely visible spindle traces to be found. This still fits very tightly around the record spindle. A stunning barely played record.

Great labels easily grades at NEAR MINT to MINT.

COVER

Comes with original UK 'pinched ends' sleeve,  in great condition.

This is a complete example of the brilliant LET IT BLEED cover. Laminated on the front only, and with the 1st press MONO / STEREO hole detector on the unlaminated rear. These covers rarely fared well, usually having heavy ring wear and tears, with a lot of yellowing to the background. Not this one! It has no tears or splits, again very hard to find.

It has little no rubbing to the corners, and none to the spine, which is largely square and true, with clearly defined 'pinched ends', with all the text complete in tact. Unbelievable and impossibly rare like this, the spine ends are clearly pinched, only found on the early manufactured covers!

The rear cover has some light discolouration and no fading near the spine (clearly shown in the images) It also has NO ring wear, stains, writing, tears or sticker marks, although there is an impression of the record, and some creasing on the front. Whilst there is virtually no ring wear, there is the impression on the vinyl,  some faint handling marks and a very slight bend to the top right had corner.

A great original first press example and rare in this condition.

Graded at EXCELLENT TO NEAR MINT.

THE INNER

An extreme rarity, this press comes with Original UK DECCA MONO, MADE IN ENGLAND RED and white paper Inner sleeve, in EXCELLENT PLUS CONDITION. With the original UN censored 'With The London Bach Choir' text. These inners are so hard to find in anything like decent condition. This one is stunning, and it would be very hard to ever find a better example.

This rare inner sleeve was exclusive to the early pressings, it is a Decca red paper inner, with full credits printed on it, which was very unusual for Decca at the time (stereo originals have a blue inner sleeve and later reissues do not have this inner at all).  The initial inner sleeves gave a credit to the London Bach Choir for the introduction to 'You Can't Always Get What You Want'.  Later inner sleeves censored this credit by blacking it out.  This is the original uncensored inner sleeve. A historical item as the choir would demand that their credit be blacked out, as they did not want to be associated with this release, meaning that only the early pressings were un corrected.

Not poly lined and with the full lyrics on one side, these thin inners were usually ripped and discarded. Not this one! No tears, splits or stains. There is the impression of the record and some extremely light creasing as shown.

The vinyl will of course come in a replacement plain white inner to protect the original.

THE POSTER

The Record comes with the Original pressing insert poster in NEAR MINT condition. Unbelievably it comes with No rips, tears, pin holes or blue tac marks. Virtually no creasing and only some very light wear along the centre folds only.

This is the original MATT poster for the 1st MONO press, on light weight  paper, with the picture of The Stones and the 'Poster designed by Victor Kahn', text, only found on 1st pressings posters.

Please note: these 1st pressing posters are completely different to all other later prints.

CLASSIC UK R&B / ROCK album by THE ROLLING STONES

RARITY

It is virtually impossible to find good examples of early UK pressings of Let It Bleed, and very hard if not impossible to find examples that are complete and intact with all the original parts. The cover is so hard to find without serious wear, even modestly worn examples are scarce!

1st pressings in great condition are impossibly rare and this is a stunning all round complete example. A great all round piece with TOP AUDIO throughout! A great original and ultra rare inner sleeve, and a great original poster. Superb!!

VINYL SOUND - PLEASE NOTE:

Highest quality vinyl with clear sound is rare, and what we always aim for. We only sell records that play with TOP AUDIO performance; super clear sound uninterrupted by hiss or other interference. Even with the cleanest pressing you will find occasional static or occasional light tics during playback, caused by a build of dust in the grooves. This is clearly different from the distortion, loud pops, repeating tics or clicks that are found on heavily played and worn pieces of vinyl. Any static build up will reduce when played, and we advise a light clean between plays for optimal performance.
