Don Patterson Goin Down Home Lp Cadet Records 1966 Mono Recording LP 787

w/Paul Weeden guitar Billy James drums

Vinyl has light paper scuffs and a short non feel able mark but plays and sounds great w/ only minimal noise [I play tested it beginning to end]

Cover light wear, comes w/ original Cadet inner sleeve

Recorded in 1963 but not released until 1967, this is Don Patterson's first recording as a leader. I suspect once he signed w/ Prestige Records and became an established artist Cadet finally released this Lp to capitalize on his newfound popularity.

It's an interesting look into his development as an organist as the influence of Jimmy Smith and Richard Groove Holmes is clearly evident here and he hadn't quite developed his signature sound you hear on his later recordings, but he still sounds superb! This is a personal favorite recording of mine and has not been reissued in any form since and probably never will be.
